First sustainability report published

Karlsruhe, November 19, 2024 — With the publication of its first sustainability report, FIZ Karlsruhe is sending a clear signal for transparency and commitment in the area of sustainability. The report summarizes the institute's measures to date in the areas of social commitment, occupational health and safety and environmental protection and highlights the challenges that need to be overcome.
Last year, a comprehensive analysis was carried out to record the current status of sustainability activities. This involved collecting and evaluating data on topics such as energy consumption, CO₂ emissions, business trips and other aspects. The report provides an insight into the institute's progress and also shows where there is still room for improvement.
With the aim of becoming climate-neutral and sustainable in the long term, FIZ Karlsruhe plans to report annually on its activities and the milestones achieved. The sustainability report thus marks the beginning of a continuous development process that combines social, ecological and economic responsibility.
