One semester in Jena - a look back at Dr. Dr. Grischka Petri's deputy professorship

Q: The lecture period is coming to an end. Grischka, how did it go in Jena?

It was a really good semester. I found the students in Jena to be very motivated and active. They even participate in the lectures with good questions. In the practical seminar on museum and exhibition law, we set up virtual museums, which we navigated through the legal requirements together. We dealt with legal forms, insurance and public procurement law, discussed Creative Commons licenses and how a museum can use them correctly. Finally, we talked about restitution issues.

Q: You are also working on some of these topics in our Intellectual Property Rights unit. Can you share your experience in a meaningful way?

Very well, actually. Many of the students have already had their first experiences with research data, either from their own work or in internships and projects at archives and museums. We regularly build on this in the course and update their knowledge. After all, it is constantly changing. When Fabian Rack wrote his article on Creative Commons Plus Licenses recently (https://irights.info/artikel/ccplus-lizenzen/32382), this fit in perfectly with our seminar. And these licenses are very well suited for some museums.

Q: What do you plan next?

Now I'll wait for the term papers :-)
