Update of zbMATH Open integrates information on mathematical software

The second update of the zbMATH interface in 2022 creates new options: fully integrated software search, seamless sorting by date, citation, or relevance, and links to referenced OEIS integer sequences.

The renowned information service zbMATH - formerly Zentralblatt für Mathematik - offers seamless, comprehensive, scientifically deeply indexed information about mathematical publications, authors, references, and software back to the year 1868. Since 2021, it is freely accessible as zbMATH Open with all content. With the information system swMATH, FIZ Karlsruhe makes an important contribution to making mathematical software accessible and findable. Currently, swMATH contains about 39,500 software packages and about 510,000 references to more than 258,000 mathematical publications.

As part of the second update of the zbMATH interface, the information on mathematical software from swMATH, among other things, was fully integrated into zbMATH Open at the beginning of December 2022. Thus, software profiles now include author and source tables. An example from swMATH: the representation of GAP, a computer algebra system with special emphasis on group theory.

New features allow linking to OEIS, the On-Line Encyclopedia of Integer Sequences. Added to this is the new, seamless (one-click) sorting in the facets by date, citations, or, for documents, relevance.
