Your Opportunity: Lead and Shape the Future of Your Department

In this era of rapid digital transformation and technological advancement, we offer you the opportunity to define and drive the strategic direction of our Patent & Scientific Information department. You will lead a dedicated management team of five persons, overseeing a department of around 80 highly skilled professionals. Your tasks will span from strategic planning to carrying out innovative research projects, giving you the opportunity to shape the future of this area.

Your Role: Strategic Leadership and Visionary

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic leadership and operational management: You will lead and inspire your management team in overseeing key areas including knowledge extraction, data and product management, information services, customer support, and collaborative research projects. Your strategic decisions will shape the success and direction of the department.
• Global partnership development: You will be responsible for managing and further expanding a key international partnership, connecting our organization with the global scientific community. Diplomatic acumen and a winning style of communication will be essential as you manage these relationships.
• Fostering innovation and team empowerment: You will cultivate a culture of innovation, encouraging your team to explore and implement new ideas. With a focus on cooperative leadership, you will promote an environment of personal responsibility and proactive initiative.
• Networking and cross-institutional collaboration: Working closely with scientific partners, you will drive collaboration across the institute and beyond, establishing new partnerships and ensuring seamless communication with key stakeholders.

Your Profile: Expertise, Vision, and Leadership

We are seeking a candidate with the following qualifications:

• A university degree in natural sciences, computer science, or a related field
• Extensive leadership experience, including responsibility for strategy, personnel, and budget management
  Proven success in digital scientific information management, ideally with experience in patent information
• A strong strategic mindset with a keen awareness of technological trends and user needs
• A collaborative and motivating leadership style, characterized by flexibility, initiative, and a commitment to fostering team success
• Excellent communication skills in both German and English
• Cultural skills and experience in working in an international environment
