For our research team Information Service Engineering (ISE) at our location in Karlsruhe, we are looking for student/scientific assistants (f/m/x) for a period of at least three months.

In the field of Information Service Engineering (ISE), we develop pioneering solutions for processing large volumes of data. We combine symbolic and sub-symbolic AI methods to extract and link knowledge from a wide variety of sources. Our research focuses on knowledge graphs, large language models and natural language processing. Our expertise is applied in projects in the digital humanities, materials science engineering and research data management. Our work lays the foundation for a smarter future where data is not only collected, but also understood and leveraged to gain new insights and drive innovation.

Your tasks:

As a member of the ISE research team, you will work on exciting research projects on the development of large knowledge graphs. Your tasks will include analyzing complex data, creating knowledge models and applying methods for data cleansing and information extraction. With your expertise, you will contribute to advancing our research and gaining new insights.

What you bring with you:

Enrolled student (Bachelor or Master) in the field of computer science, industrial engineering, information science or a comparable field of study at a German university.
Knowledge and experience in the development of application software, preferably in Python.
Basic Linux administration and scripting knowledge (shell, bash).
Knowledge of natural language processing (NLP), linked data, information extraction and/or data science as well as the use and querying of knowledge graphs (DBpedia or Wikidata) is a plus.
A good ability to grasp new topics and tasks quickly.
Good knowledge of English to be able to work in an international team.
