RADAR Update: Extended use and flexible payment options

This means that RADAR will be available to a wider range of institutions: besides publicly funded universities, colleges and research institutions, museums, libraries, archives and memorials in Germany, the EU, Switzerland and the UK can also use the service. Previously, the RADAR Cloud and RADAR Hybrid services were limited to publicly funded research institutions and universities in Germany.

In addition, a prepayment option has recently become available for RADAR Cloud. This enables researchers to pay for storage services for a period of up to five calendar years in advance. This model offers better planning and greater cost transparency, particularly for institutions that conduct third-party funded research. The amount of the advance payment is based on an individually defined upper limit for the data to be archived or published.

Appropriately enough, we can announce this news during Love Data Week - an international week of action dedicated to research data and research data management. Data archiving and publication at RADAR follow the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) – for to really love data means to keep them findable, usable, and inerpretable!
